Our travel day began with swimming lessons, Renegade Running Club, cleaning and some last minute packing. We were waiting for the dog food and new shoes to arrive, but FedEx was moving rather slow. I called Solutions to see if they had the number of the FedEx driver and they tried to reach out. As we were just past New Virginia they called and said they had our packages. We turned around quickly to go get them. Unfortunately, when I opened the box we found that the magnetic security tag was still left on one of Rocky’s new shoes!

Nita and Jess generously dropped Mom off at the airport where we could meet her with the car seat and she could take our van with the dogs. Check in went smoothly and they allowed our 41 pound bag through (40 pounds was the limit). The TSA agent was so kind and gave the boys a junior officer badge sticker. Once we were through security we grabbed some sandwiches and went to the gate.

Our flight was only 10 minutes late taking off! Unfortunately, when I booked the flight I booked the last row which I didn’t know doesn’t have a window so the boys were disappointed. The flight had a little turbulence, but wasn’t too bad. Teddy played on his iPad for the majority of the flight, but Rocky had no interest in playing on his. He kept trying to talk to the flight attendants in the galley.  We only had to take two bathroom breaks which was pretty good! At the end of the flight the flight attendant gave the boys some Allegiant wings and a snack. They were very excited that they got a second badge.

We got the bag and car seat and started our venture to find our rental car. We used the Turo app and rented a convertible for the same price that we could have rented a regular vehicle through a company. Our host left the vehicle in the Economy lot so we started walking there. There was a shuttle, but we couldn’t find it so we walked. It was a nice walk after a flight. We found the vehicle, loaded up the car seats and suitcase and away we went with the top down!

We stopped along the way to get dinner at Flipper’s Pizzeria.  We got a Hawaiian, Hog & Honey, and pepperoni. All were delicious- I’d go back there again!

When flying into SFB it is a little longer drive to the condo, but a smaller airport. The drive really wasn’t bad. After dinner we made the 45 minute drive to the condo and arrived about 10:30. Teddy made up and told us stories along our drive.I am so excited that we got a walkout condo again! Rocky fell asleep on the way and Thom successfully made the transfer into our bed. All four of us slept in the king size bed. We watched a little Looney Tunes and then went to bed! The kids are excited for their cousins to arrive tomorrow!
